Let's face it, high fashion is not really suitable for the weekly shop at the supermarket. But, even the catwalk trends that aren't really your thing, you can still take some inspiration, to make your Spring 2016 wardrobe, chic, stylish and contemporary.

So without any further delay, here are the trends that are going to be hot in Spring 2016...

Underwear as Outerwear

In a nod to the the slip dress of the '90s, made iconic by the likes of Kate Moss, lingerie-style dresses and separates were all over the Spring/Summer 2016 catwalks. Pieces that would normally be saved for the bedroom, have been reinvented as stunning lace-trimed dresses, soft silk gowns, and beautiful mesh paneled slips. This may be a trend for the braver fashionista, but it is certainly an empowering look, that is sure to turn heads wherever you go.

If wearing underwear as outerwear form head-to-toe is a little bit too daunting a prospect for you, why not try a pretty lace camisole with jeans instead. Or you could swap your spring jacket for a robe-style satin or silk wrap jacket, that is set to replace the kimono that was popular last Spring/Summer.

Super Sparkle

You may think glitz and sparkle is only for the Christmas season, but it is actually going to be a key fashion trend for Spring 2016, particularly in evening wear. So don't pack away those sequins, metallics and glitter pieces just yet, bring them back out of the wardrobe and reinvent them for the Spring season.

There are plenty of ways to wear your sparkle this season – from an edgy and grunge style, to quirky and fashion forward, to classic and feminine. All over sparkle, may be a little too much for everyday wear, so give the look a more casual twist, by teaming a sparkle skirt with a jersey polo neck, or team your favorite pair of skinny jeans with a sequin t-shirt. Spring 2016 is definitely your season to shine.

Off The Shoulder

Cold shoulder styles have been popular of the past few seasons, and it continues to be popular for Spring 2016. In fact if there is one bit of flesh to bare this season, make sure it is the shoulder – the more of it on show, the better.

The cold shoulder, is a very versatile trend, with Spanish ruffles, strong tailoring, and casual Bohemian vibes, all featuring on the catwalks. So from a beach holiday to drinks at the bar, the off-he-shoulder silhouette is suitable for all occasions.

Save Yourself Money on New Fashion Trends
So, there are some of the hottest trends for Spring 2016 – very wearable and very stunning, don't you think? Sometimes fashion trends are reboots or repeats of trends from previous seasons, so before you rush out to buy a whole new on-trend wardrobe, take a look at what you already have to see if you have any pieces that are already in style.

Also consider up-cycling some of your garments that no longer get any wear. For example, you could totally change a simple halterneck maxi dress, by cutting off a length of material around the hemline, and using this extra material to create cold shoulder sleeves. It would be a simple job for even the most novice of dressmakers, and would change that maxi dress into an on trend midi dress with the exposed shoulder sleeves. If you aren't very good with a needle and thread, make some inquiries with seamstresses, to see how much alterations would cost.

If you don't have many clothes that don't fit in with the fashion trends for Spring 2016, don't be too hasty with the online shopping.
