Hair Trends for Spring/Summer 2016
Good news everyone...Spring is officially here. We are officially in British Summer Time and the nights are getting shorter and lighter by the day – I even saw some blue sky and sunshine the other day. So it is time to put away the collection of wooly hats and get a new 'do' for Spring/Summer 2016.
You're got to keep that new 'do' looking healthy and shiny, so you might be tempted to load up on some hair. So before you hit the check out button on your huge order, check out if there are some vouchers codes that will save you a little bit of money.
The Extreme Crop
If we start of with a really extreme hair trend, then the rest will seem way more accessible and wearable. A number of designers sent their models down the runway with super extreme crop haircuts, almost reminiscent of the buzz cuts seen on new army recruits and Natalie Portman in 'V for Vendetta'. It is definitely trend for the braver girls, but with it, you are sure to stand out from the crowd. You'll be fashion forward and edgy – plus hair grows back and if it isn’t happening quick enough, wigs are brilliant these days. If they are good enough for Gaga...
The Wet Look
For something super sleek and chic, but also super easy to achieve, then the wet look trend is definitely one to try and experiment. From wet look waves, to super sleeked back locks, the look is so easy to achieve with a good quality moose and wet-effect gel, which will create the look, without the hair appearing weighed down with product, or 'crunchy'. Finish the look with a spritz of shine spray, to tame any stray hairs...polished perfection.
If you want an new on trend look for your hair, but aren't quite ready to go for the chop, or reach for the hair dye, then accessories are definitely the answer. For Spring/Summer 2016 the accessories of choice are the embellished crowns and Alice bands. Form florals to jewels, beads to sparkle, thee is plenty of scope for experimentation, so feel free to be as bold or as subtle as you dare. Additionally, this trend is super versatile, with looks being suitable for all occasions – beautiful for a summer wedding, and quirky cool for a music festival.
A few years ago, pastel hair shades were everywhere, and there is good news for the ladies who want to feel all 'My Little Pony' again, as sugared almond hair is back on trend. There is no one colour which stands out, with a range of pastels featuring on the catwalk – from rose gold to baby pink, and lilacs and icy blue.
Beautiful Braids and Pretty Plaits
Plaits and braids were all over the catwalks for Spring/Summer 2016 is all different shapes and sizes. From super thin and neat strands, to chunky and messy – there were plaits and braids for every look and every occasion. Since it is such a versatile trend, it works for all hair lengths and styles, and you can go as big and bold, or small and subtle as you like – so get plaiting and braiding.
2016 may be the year that you book in at the hairdressers for a perm, as big, bouncy curls are set to be a popular hair trend for Spring/Summer 2016. To make the most of natural curls and texture, apply a good quality curl spray to towel dried hair and blow dry using a diffuser. For duper defined curls, use heated rollers (or tongs and pin the curls into place), and allow to completely cool to set the curls. It is all about volume, texture and curl definition.
