Make A Statement
Spring/Summer 2016 is the season to make your shoes the focal point of your outfit, with some big statement shoes. There is no such thing as 'less is more' when it comes to your shoes this season – it's all about over-the-top embellishment, vibrant colours, interesting shapes, and out-of-this world structures. The bolder the better, the bigger the better, the brighter the better, so it may be worth toning things down when it comes to your outfit, so the whole look isn't to OTT. Think simple silhouettes and block colours, that will complement your outrageous, and fabulous footwear.
The Must Have Mules
They are the shoes of the 'Clueless' era and now the mule is back on trend in a big way, in all shapes and sizes. If you buy just one new pair of shoes to see you through the Spring/Summer 2016 season make it the mule. They can be dressed up with a little black dress, or some sharp tailoring, and work just as well with casual spring dresses and jeans.
The Cowgirl Shoe
Step straight from the saloon to the street with the new Western footwear trend. It is way more than just your average cowboy boot. Think extreme silhouettes with a much more period feel, along with luxurious textures and embellishments. Avoid a look that is too 'costumy' by teaming your Western shoes with contemporary silhouettes and fabrics. A pair of embellished western shoes, will look fantastic teamed with skinny jeans and a loose fitting shirt...don't you think? Just leave the cowboy hat at home.
Super Silver Shoes
If you want to add a metallic touch to your Spring/Summer wardrobe, why not treat yourself to some silver shoes? From heels to flats, sneakers to sandals, space age silver shoes were all over the Spring/Summer 2016 catwalks. A great metallic neutral shade like silver is super versatile, and will go with pretty much everything in your wardrobe, but they will look extra fabulous, when teamed with little black dress, or indigo skinny jeans.
For the past few seasons, it has been the round toe that has been the shap.e of choice when it comes to footwear. But for Spring/Summer 2016, it looks like the pointed toe is back on trend, particularly when it comes to heels - pointed toes were seen on a wide variety of heels, including the wedge, the block heel and the stiletto. How will you wear yours? There is plenty of choice, so there is sure to be something suitable for any outfit and any occasion.
