Eye Make Up Trends to Try in 2016

When it comes to make up, it can be easy to get stuck in a rut...you find a look that works for you and you stick with it, because it just seems easier than trying something new. You may change your lipstick depending on the occasion, but when it comes to eye make up, if you're like most women, you will stick with what you know, when it comes to the eye.

Why not make 2016 the year that you have fun with your make up and spend some time trying out some of thee new beauty and eye make up trends that are going to be bog for the next few seasons at least. Experiment as much or as little as you like, an you never know, you may find that one eye make-up look that really makes those eyes of yours pop.

Remember ladies, having fun and experimenting with your look, doesn't have to cost the earth. If you do a little bit of smart shopping, you can get whatever new make up you need at a bargain price. Before you commit to buying anything, make sure you take a look at hair, skincare and beauty voucher codes and see if you can save yourself a few pennies – even if it is just the cost of delivery you are saving, it is better than nothing...am I right?

True Blue

When thinking about blue eye shadow, most girls will think of the awful 1980's look of garish shades worn all over the lid (almost to the eyebrow), teamed with a hot pink lipstick. It was not a good look, and thankfully it has stayed behind in the 80's where is belongs. So it may be surprising to learn that blue eye shadow is set to be one of the hottest beauty trends for 2016...it has been given a contemporary twist, and is looking better than ever.

Blue eye shadow was featured heavily on catwalks for the 2016 seasons, and with a great scope for experimentation. From vibrant cobalt and turquoise, to more smoky navy and midnight shades, to a little bit of sparkle and glitter. The options were endless. To keep the look from being to overdone, it is important to keep the rest of the make-up subtle and soft.

Peachy Perfection

If blue is just a little too bold for you, then why not try for some peachy perfection, in a eye make up trend that is just perfect for spring. Soft pinks and peaches have been a common lip shade in recent seasons, but on the 2016 catwalks, they were popular as an eye shadow, and looking at images it isn't hard to see why.

When worn as an eye shade, and combined with a blush of a similar shade, has the effect of making the skin appear glowing an healthy, making it a lovely look for the Spring season. Masacra should be applied sparingly and in a shade not as harsh as black, such as brown, or even clear, just for some definition. Keep the lip matte and nude, for a barely there look that is completely effortless, but so beautiful.

Bold Lashes

Surprisingly mascara and bold lashes, have been mostly absent from the runways of recent seasons – perhaps this is because there has been a rise in popularity of the bare faced, more natural make up. But, 2016 sees a resurgence in the popularity of fabulous lashes once more, to make those eyes of yours really pop. Go big or go home when it comes to your lashes and take a futuristic approach that will make you stand out from the crowd. This look can be achieved with false lashes, or some creative use of eye liner.

If you're feeling brave enough to take a high fashion approach, combine your bold lashes with a pop of blue eye liner or eye shadow. It is a look that will make the eyes shine as the focal point, so keep it that way by keeping the lips a nude shade, and the blush minimal.

So there you have it, the eye make up trends you need to be trying out right now. But remember ladies, if you don't feel like following the trends, there is no rule that says you have too...something individual and different is always a good thing.
